Many thanks to John Jobling for supplying most of the ticket stubs featured in the Newcastle City Hall pages.
My son played there when he was young. He said a bunch of dick heads had written band names all over the wall in the green room. Things like Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Amen Corner, The Beatles etc. I suggested that the actual people themselves might have written their own names. Oh, he said, can we get a pizza? When I was a kid I thought you were destined for the top if you played the City Hall. To him it was just another performance done. As about as exciting as washing the dishes.
